The hug between the mega stars of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan created a frenzy among Bollywood fans. This revoked all sorts of reactions in the media. While Salman’s brother Sohail Khan termed the hug as ‘just a greeting and nothing more’, other media mentioned that it was the spirit of the evening that brought these two together. TOI reported that though the hug was not pre-planned, it could not be avoided either. However, fans and well-wishers were nothing but happy to see this reunion of sorts between these most popular stars of Bollywood.
Amidst all this happiness and excitement surrounding the hug, there are a few other stories doing the rounds. One such interesting theory from the popular blog bollywoodjournalist.com is as follows:
The journalist here mentions that a source present at the Iftaar party spilled the beans on the actual happenings. As per the source, the superstars SRK and Salman had buried the hatchet a month back. Apparently, Shahrukh Khan had made a phone call to Salman Khan where they spoke for 15 minutes and sorted out issues. It seems like this did the trick. The blog reads,
“”My source says that Shah Rukh took the initiative and made a phone call to Salman Khan. They spoke briefly for 15 minutes and that conversation did all the trick.
“I am told that it was Shah Rukh who broke the ice with Salman and it was a phone call. They spoke on the phone before they met at the party. Do you see any hint of surprise in anybody’s eyes? Shah Rukh’s reaction is like ‘here you are!’. He was sitting patiently at the chief minister’s table because he knew that Salman is going to arrive there,” said the source.
Normally, such VIP zones are out-of-bounds for the media due to security reasons but this time around, cameras and video cameras were already put up at the ‘right’ angles to capture this piece of ‘history’. Nobody seemed to have missed a shot.
As a result, the perfect Karan-Arjun type frame was shot without a hassle, only this time Baba Siddique replaced Rakhee Gulzar.”
A month later, they were both invited to Baba Siddiqui’s Iftaar party. Both the stars new of the others presence in this party and wished to make an official announcement of their ‘patch up’.”
The blog also mentions that everyone knew of the great event that was about to occur and had taken their places with Salman’s dad Salim taking his seat right next to Shahrukh. Apparently, the cameras were ready at their correct angles. When Salman entered and the hug happened, the cameras clicked away to glory..and all that followed is history.
