Inkaar Box Office Report
Sudhir Mishra's hard-hitting film on office politics has opened to mixed responses at the box office. The film opened slow and has been doing below average business, but has managed to find a liking amongst the multiplex audience.
The film had dull collections on Friday as it started with 1.45 crore. Saturday and Sunday was better but just barely, with 1.55 and 1.75 crore respectively. Monday was meagre with barely 75 lacs to the film's name.
In entirely, the film has managed to rake below average collections of 5.75 crore approximately so far.
The film has faced competition at the box office from Vishal Bhardwaj's rural comedy Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, cop film Mumbai Mirror and crime film Bandook. Whatever business it shall do will only be till coming Friday which gives the film four days. The coming Friday will see Abbas-Mustan's multi-starrer Race 2 which should automatically take the other films out of the running significantly. Additionally, Friday will see the release of romance film Akash Vani and children's film Main Krishna Hoon.
The lifetime business of the film has been estimated at around 9 crore nett, but Bollywood is unpredictable.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “Inkaar did not open well in its opening two days but Sunday was slightly better. The audiences were expecting it to be a film on sexual harassment and were disappointed that it was a love story. The audiences were confused and that’s why they did not like the film."
Atul Mohan, trade expert says, “Inkaar could have been much better. The audience had huge expectations in terms of the content of the film."
