He’s probably THE most chocolatey of the chocolate boys in Bollywood and he’s usually played cutie-pie romantic roles. But with Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again, actor Imran Khan plays a gangster for the very first time. Since the film is set in the 1980′s in Mumbai, Imran has been studying older Bollywood films which star Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff (like Mashaal and Ram Lakhan) to understand the old-school mannerisms and styling of characters that belong to that era.
Says Imran, “Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again is a period film. So the characters had to fit in correctly. I watched a lot of films from the 80’s, including the ones with Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in them, to understand how things were back then.”
The film, which also stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, will release in August 2013.
